Fundraisers like you are vital for Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF).

Without your support we wouldn’t be able to provide life-saving medical care where it's needed most, so we want to do whatever we can to support you. To help you get started we've put together these frequently asked questions.

Setting up a fundraising page on JustGiving is an easy way for your supporters to sponsor you, and allows you to regularly update your page with photos and an activity  blog.

Unfortunately we don’t buy allocated places in any organised sporting events. But if you manage to get a place at an event like the London Marathon we’d love it if you’d run in support of us!

We have running vests that you can use during your training and on the day of the race, and can give you some good tips to reach your fundraising goals.

Just get in touch.

We have loads of MSF-branded materials to help with your fundraising. If you’d like to order some fundraising materials, please email Meera Patel at

We are able to respond to crises quickly around the world because of the unrestricted funding we receive from our generous supporters, this allows us to distribute funds where the need is greatest. This means there is no delay in mobilising, no waiting for government funds to be released and no lag as donation appeals are launched; we can act immediately.

If however, you prefer to allocate your donation to a specific country or crisis we will do our best to facilitate this.

Contact Meera the Community and Corporate Giving Coordinator if you wish to do so.

Our logo provides our staff in the field with a level of protection because it represents our key principles of independence, neutrality and impartiality. For this reason, we’ve created a separate fundraising logo which can be used by individuals organising events. Please ensure the logo is not altered in any way and is representing MSF correctly.

If you are a commercial organisation you are required to ask for permission to use our logo, please email us at

Collecting sponsorship from companies is a great way of increasing your sponsorship. Many companies offer a Matched Giving service where they match all the sponsorship raised by the staff.

Please be aware that as a humanitarian medical aid organisation, we strongly believe that we must not accept gifts from corporations or industries whose activities are in conflict with our humanitarian goals and values. These include:

  • Arms manufacturing and selling
  • Tobacco manufacturing and selling
  • Pharmaceutical industry
  • Extraction industry

You can read more about this in our corporate gift acceptance policy.

The easiest way to pay in your funds is to send a cheque made payable to ‘MSF-UK’ along with a covering letter to:

Meera Patel
Chancery Exchange
10 Furnival Street

Alternatively, you can make a donation over the phone by calling our offices on 020 7404 6600 and asking to speak to a member of the Fundraising Team.

Please note: If you would like us to claim Gift Aid on your donation, the government requires that we have a Gift Aid form, for each individual making the donation. We cannot claim gift aid where a collection is made or if the cheque covers donations from more than one supporter.

Our Gift Aid collection envelopes are an easy way for individuals to complete a gift aid declaration and keep their donation separate from other donations.

If you would like us to send you some, please get in touch.

Our UK office is responsible for sending 300 inspiring doctors, nurses, logisticians and other project staff overseas each year. When they've returned home, many of them are happy to share their stories and talk about the reality of life working for us overseas.

If you'd like to request a speaker for an event, please fill in this online form and we'll do our best to find you an inspiring speaker.

You can donate to MSF here.
