Our teams act fast to save people's lives in conflict zones, natural disasters and epidemics.

Since 1971, Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has been ready to respond to humanitarian emergencies around the world.

From treating war-wounded civilians in Yemen, to fighting deadly Ebola outbreaks in the Democratic Republic of Congo, we are on the frontline of humanitarian healthcare care right now – including the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are independent

We don't take money from governments, business or institutions, so we are free to act fast

We are neutral

In a conflict, we don't take sides – we go where the medical need is greatest

We are impartial

We provide free care to people in need, regardless of ethnicity, religion or politics

Wherever the need is greatest

Last year, we ran over 460 projects across 70 countries – treating millions of patients.

We often hit the headlines when there's an emergency in the news, such as an earthquake, tsunami or war. However, our teams are also on the ground delivering long-term medical programmes to communities cut off from healthcare, or speaking out about unseen suffering.

Around the world, 365 days a year, we are there even when the cameras are not.

This is only possible with the support of people like you.

Your support can help save lives

Not everyone can be there to help. But you can help us to be there.

Almost 100 percent of our donations come from individuals like you. This means we are not held back by politics or business - we can act fast to save lives.

Of the funds we raise, 86 percent goes directly to our humanitarian work, 12 percent is spent on future fundraising and just two percent on essential office costs.
