We perform 13 vital operations – every single hour.

Whether it's a child wounded in an airstrike or a mother facing a complicated labour, emergency surgery can save lives.

But this care is complex. It requires highly trained staff, specialist equipment and safe, sterile facilities. Shockingly, 70 percent of people on Earth have no access to surgery at all.

So, in conflict zones, natural disasters and remote communities worldwide, MSF teams deliver surgical care to where it's needed most.

Why now?

Worldwide, MSF teams conduct around 114,000 major operations every year.

Now people in places like Gaza, Sudan and Afghanistan are facing new humanitarian crises.

In the countries where we work, the need for surgical care has never been higher.

Why MSF?

Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has over 50 years of experience in crisis zones.

We treat patients based on medical needs alone, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation. We don't take sides in conflicts.

Our staff are experts in providing life-saving care in challenging environments.

What happens to my donation?

Eighty-four pence of every pound donated to MSF goes directly to our medical projects. And because we’re funded by individuals, not governments, we can act fast when a new crisis breaks.

None of this is possible without the support of our incredible donors.
