Take action: Tell your MP to attend our Gaza event in Parliament
Gaza’s healthcare system is on the verge of total collapse.
Israel's genocidal campaign has not spared patients, medics and hospitals from the violence. In nearly two years, 1,500 healthcare workers have been killed, and almost 90 percent of Gaza’s hospitals have been damaged or destroyed.
Now, 50 percent of all hospitals are completely out of service, while those remain open are only partly functional.
The near-total siege placed on Gaza since March means even working facilities don’t have critical life-saving supplies.
Meanwhile, July saw the highest influx of hospital admissions to Gaza's health facilities since October 2023.
This deliberate destruction is a clear violation of International Humanitarian Law (IHL). The UK Government has a responsibility to act.
That's why we're asking you to send a message to your MP, inviting them to a special Parliamentary event on 14 October 2025, hosted by Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
We want them to speak to medical professionals and humanitarians who have returned from Gaza. They will hear about what our staff have witnessed, as well as from IHL experts on the UK’s obligations and abilities to hold the perpetrators to account and prevent further violations.

What should the UK Government do for International Humanitarian Law?
The UK Government must take a firm and immediate stand against all attacks on healthcare services, staff, and patients.
Any delay or silence sends the wrong message – eroding respect for medical neutrality and emboldening further breaches of IHL. Each attack should be met with a strong, public condemnation.
The UK Goverment must take a firm and principled stance in rejecting the deliberate misapplication and erosion of fundamental IHL principles, including:
- When there are unjustifiable claims that hospitals and medical facilities have lost their special protection under IHL
- When civilians are unjustifiably labelled as fair military targets or acceptable collateral damage
- When impartial humanitarian assistance is used as a weapon of the conflict
Such distortions not only weaken IHL but also endanger those it is designed to protect. The UK has both the authority and responsibility to defend its integrity.
The UK should lead in defending the core principles under IHL – which protects civilians, hospitals and the sick from being attacked.
We urge the Government to defend the integrity of international humanitarian law and reject any attempts to dilute its purpose or protections.
