Send a message of support to our team in Sudan
As we mark three years of the brutal civil war in Sudan, you can share a message of support with our Sudanese team.
Since it erupted on 15 April 2023, the conflict has spiralled into one of the largest humanitarian crises in the world. For the past three years, people have been enduring extreme violence that has devastated every aspect of their lives.
Our Sudanese staff are the pillars that sustain Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF)’s work in the country. They have led our response which in 2025 alone provided over 846,000 outpatient consultations, treated over 253,000 people in need of emergency care, and delivered more than 28,000 babies.
They include Dr Altayeb, a surgeon who fled his home in El Fasher after the city was taken over by the RSF (Rapid Support Forces). His initial motivation for fleeing was to find a safe place for his pregnant wife to give birth.
His motivation for continuing to provide care, however, comes from his patients.
We’d like to mark this sombre anniversary by offering words of support to our Sudanese staff—such as Dr Altayeb—from the MSF community here in the UK. We’d love as many of you as possible to sign our e-card.
