The event

The Edinburgh Marathon Festival is an energetic event you don't want to miss!

Enjoy an all-encompassing route where you will run past some of Edinburgh’s most iconic landmarks and striking panoramic views of the city and Edinburgh Castle. Each route (Marathon, Half and 10K) promises an electric atmosphere with large, buzzy crowds cheering you on!

Edinburgh Marathon

Registration fee £70, fundraising target £700

The route starts at the historic heart of Edinburgh. You'll pass incredible backdrops including Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, and historic Georgian streets, finishing with the picturesque views along the East Lothian coastline.

Edinburgh Half Marathon

Registration fee £40, fundraising target £400

A famously flat and fast route that starts on a downhill, then flattens out all the way to the finish line! Starting at Potterrow in Edinburgh, this route hits many iconic sights of Edinburgh before making its way to Musselburgh, where you will experience the roar of the crowds on the finish straight.

Edinburgh 10k

Registration fee £25, fundraising target £250 

Run through the stunning surroundings of Holyrood Park. Starting and finishing near Dynamic Earth, you'll experience the striking panoramic views of the city and Edinburgh Castle.

Frequently Asked Questions

The marathon and half marathon event are on Sunday 30th May 2027. The 10k event is on Saturday 29th May. We can’t wait to see you there!  

For the marathon we ask each Team MSF runner to raise a a minimum of £700, the half marathon £400 and the 10K £250. Don’t worry, our dedicated fundraising team will be supporting you every step of the way, so we’re sure you’ll smash this target!

Yes, there’s a registration fee to secure your place on Team MSF, along with a minimum fundraising target.

Marathon registration fee:  £70

Half marathon registration fee:  £40

10k registration fee: £25

Every step you take and every pound you raise will help us deliver life-saving medical care where it’s needed most.  

Absolutely! We’d love you to take on this challenge as part of a team. We’ll need each group member to register individually, but once you’re signed up, you can combine your fundraising efforts. Please email fundraisinghelp@london.msf.org and our events team will be able to help you set this up.
