Every year, we highlight the work of an MSF team and invite you to send them a message of solidarity over the festive season. This year we’ve chosen the Emergency Response Team in Nigeria. Their medical activities manager is Dr Shafaatu Abdulkadir.

SEND YOUR MESSAGE

When emergencies flare up in Nigeria, the team react fast, whether it’s an outbreak of measles or cholera, a spiralling nutrition crisis, or natural disasters like flash floods.

The conditions the team work in can be incredibly difficult. In some areas armed violence means people face extraordinary dangers in their everyday lives. Despite many challenges, the team carry on their work, reaching people living in very tough circumstances.

“None of these people deserve any of the things that are happening to them. We’re Nigerians but we’re still scared to go to some of these locations. So just imagine someone who has no choice, who has no other way.

MSF reshapes your mindset. We're not just living for ourselves. We’re also living for others.”
